WHAT I DO

I am a project management expert and I will lead your project to deliver the most from your next site and your next building.  I clearly explain all of the tasks, costs and timeframes up front.  I design your building to be efficient, cost effective, great looking and most importantly to make you money.  I then manage all of the engineers, builders, specialists and government approvals required to complete it.

Not some expensive developer or design-builder, Not some artsy apprentice in some corporate office, Not a fragmented process leaving you to manage decisions,  More than an owner's representative, I rigorously advocate for every client's best interests, controlling costs and working to expedite schedules throughout every stage of the process from site selection through design, permitting and construction … all the way to move-in. As your project management professional I am always working to save you more than my fee.

I am a PROJECT MANAGEMENT PROFESSIONAL who has earned:

  • MBA in Project Management and Leadership

  • CPM Certified Project Manager: National Association for Project Managers

  • ISO 9001 Certified: led my office to meet strict and continual improvement requirements of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System

  • PMI-PMP Project Management Institute: completed all Project Management Professional certification requirements

  • Board Certified Professional Architect

  • Masters Degree: commercial Architecture UF 1989

BEST PRACTICES create the BEST BUILDINGS

It is difficult to imagine the design, construction and project management for the Parthenon or Notre-Dame cathedral handed off to some corporate architect’s backroom apprentice, some practice consultant, general contractor, commercial realtor or office manager.  When the great buildings of ancient Greece and the cathedrals of Europe were created obviously it was an expert who led, designed and coordinated the development of buildings that would define an era.

So why would anyone do something different now?

It seems that in this segregated economy clients unfortunately sacrifice the benefits of project leadership and either pay too much to a high priced turn key vendor or risk costly mistakes, change orders, delays and high energy bills by “going it alone”.

So what are best practices to create the best buildings?

Obviously a Project Management Professional and Healthcare Architect Expert with 40+ years experience and a proven system for delivering better buildings.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT + ARCHITECTURE
Since I started in architectural practice I have always focused on working with the entire team of builders, engineers, commercial realtors, designers and most importantly the owner to create a valuable return on investment for every client.  I am a second generation architect, have served clients in West Central Florida since 1979, earned a Master of commercial Architecture degree in 1989, an MBA in project management in 1994, am certified as project management professional and am a board certified architect.  I am responsible for the project management, design and engineering of millions of dollars of surgical, imaging and specialty healthcare construction every year.

ADVOCACY + OWNERS REPRESENTATION

Recently I delivered project management and on-site owner’s representation services for Desoto Memorial Hospital in Arcadia for their $16 million 2 story replacement inpatient wing, their replacement ER and their overall hospital renovation.  I managed an outside architect, various teams of engineers, contractors, hospital staff, AHCA inspectors, the building official and their relationship with the Federal funding agency.  I easily saved them twice my fee through proactive management, regular construction observation and cost control over change orders.  I corrected a significant number of design and construction mistakes before they were problematic. Hospital CEO Vince Sica and then hospital VP Warren Santander were very pleased with the thorough and proactive way in which I protected their interests during that 3 year project.

FLORIDA + SE REGION
Before starting my own firm, I led and managed the southeast US office for L&F, one of the largest national a/e/c firms specializing in healthcare.  During that time I managed teams of architects, engineers, contractors, designers, owner’s representatives and processes within and outside of that 200+ person firm to remodel and create tens of millions of dollars of AHCA reviewable healthcare facilities all over the SE US.

GET 40 YEARS OF EXPERTISE + NEVER GET HANDED OFF TO AN APPRENTICE

In 2000 I left the bureaucracy of corporate architecture to focus my now 40+ years of experience on leading design and construction projects directly for healthcare clients.  Corporate firms depend on novice apprentices for manpower but by focusing solely on serving healthcare professionals I directly apply 40+ years of Professional Project Management and Healthcare Architectural Expertise to deliver a greater return on every client’s investment.

my focus is to deliver more than my fee in savings
